Pengaruh Pengunaan Media Pembelajaran Video Animasi IPA Terhadap Peningkatan Minat Belajar Siswa Sekolah Dasar

Elementary school students' interest in learning Natural Sciences (IPA) remains relatively low, mainly due to conventional teaching methods that are monotonous and less engaging. This study aims to determine the effect of animated video media on increasing the learning interest of fifth-grade students in IPA subjects. The research was conducted at SDN 067262 Medan using a posttest only control group design. The population consisted of all fifth-grade students, with the sample selected using purposive sampling, involving two classes as experimental and control groups. The experimental group received IPA lessons using animated videos, while the control group was taught using conventional methods. Data collection techniques included learning interest questionnaires and learning outcome tests. Data were analyzed using t-tests and Mann-Whitney tests with SPSS 25, along with normality and homogeneity tests. The results showed a significant effect of using animated video media on increasing students' learning interest, with a t-test significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. The experimental group obtained higher scores than the control group, indicating increased focus, enthusiasm, and interest in learning IPA. This study presents novelty in applying animated media as an innovative alternative in IPA learning. The implications of this study suggest that teachers should utilize animated video media as an effective teaching aid at the elementary school level.
