Abstract

Sekolah Tinggi Maritim Yogyakarta (STIMARYO) as one of maritime colleges in Indonesia has graduated candidates of both competent deck and engineer officers with highly encouraged leadership spirit. STIMARYO cadets as prospective officers on board the ship require a forum for developing leadership character to support their competence. This underlies the importance of E-Leadership community service activities based on the application of the rules that apply on board named ISM Code to be implemented. This activity combines online leadership training started with pre-test activities and ended with post-test activities to measure the understanding of participants on the implementation of the ISM Code and leadership perspectives. Dependent t-test was used to compare the understanding of cadets both prior and after being given a discourse related to ISM-code in training. It is known that the participants' overall understanding has increased by 52% from the pre-test average of 33% increasing to 85% at the end of the post-test activity.
